Barceló Warsaw Powiśle Hotel is one of the highlights of Elektrownia Powiśle, one of Warsaw's finest shopping and dining destinations. The hotel's opening crowned the lengthy process of revitalising and redefining this part of the city. Barceló Warsaw Powiśle, a member of the Spanish hotel chain, combines a post-industrial touch with contemporary industrial design.

It was erected in a spot once occupied by an office and technical building of the Powiśle Power Plant, founded in 1904. Following its closure in the 1990s, the place called for a new start.

The hotel building is brand new, although the industrial feel has been preserved. Its designers meticulously combined original artefacts from the power plant (valves, piping, insulators) with the signature atmosphere of the Spanish brand. At the same time, the colours, the proportions and the details blend well with the other buildings of Elektrownia Powiśle.

All this gives the interiors an industrial touch, where cold concrete is warmed by caramel-coloured furnishings. The project uses a number of Noti pieces, including Lua, Nome, Algo, Muse, Gap and Sosa armchairs and sofas, as well as Muse coffee tables.

The Barceló Warsaw Powiśle concept is based on a respectful approach to history, preservation of cultural heritage and creation of a popular destination for tourists and local residents alike. The hotel's entrance lobby features a collection of memorabilia from the power plant: original log books, Brown Boveri meters, process drawings and photographs from the 1920s and 1930s.

Another advantage of Barceló Warsaw Powiśle is its location, a short walk from the Vistula, the National Stadium and the Copernicus Science Centre. The hotel's lobby, relaxation area and front reception were designed to blend well with the surroundings and highlight the views of the historical and contemporary buildings in the Powiśle area.
