Sustainable development

Out of respect for nature

Today more than ever, the world needs to become more sustainable in every possible way. The furniture industry is no exception. With that in mind, Noti has been looking for solutions to minimise the environmental impact of furniture production. We strive to integrate environmental awareness into our development strategy and to run the company with respect for nature.

Our sustainability efforts

Human life and health, including the quality of our working environment, are extremely important in our sustainability policy. This is why we have undertaken a number of measures as part of our sustainability strategy:

  • we use products, services and technologies that reduce environmental impact
  • we constantly improve processes to reduce the consumption of energy, water, materials and fuels
  • we sort and recycle our waste
  • we manage our waste responsibly and, first and foremost, optimise our processes in order to reduce the amount of waste generated
  • we predict and assess pollution and emission risks
  • we comply with environmental protection regulations
  • we raise environmental awareness among our employees.

Sustainability solutions at Noti

Adhesives
We have switched from solvent-based adhesives to dispersion adhesives. These water-based adhesive systems form bonds when the water evaporates. They do not contain any solvents or other harmful chemicals, which makes them safer and more friendly for the environment. By switching from solvent-based to water-based adhesives, we have seen a reduction in the level of occupational risk, previously caused by acetone released at bonding stations. All our adhesives are appropriately certified.

Recycling
Waste such as fabric offcuts, clear film, coloured film and other plastics, cores, waste paper, cardboard are converted to new raw materials, in a process known as mechanical recycling. As part of the process, waste is shredded, but its chemical structure does not change. The resulting regranulate is used as a raw material from which new products are made. At Noti, we design all products and packaging so as to ensure that their components can be recycled or neutralised at the end of their life cycle. We cooperate with waste recovery organisations in Poland and abroad, which collect and recycle packaging from our customers. We do not use Styrofoam fillings; all components used to package our furniture are 100% recyclable. At Noti, we neither generate nor store any hazardous waste. Furthermore, we do not release any harmful substances into the environment, such as dust or gases from our technological processes.

Fabrics
We are passionate about fabrics. This is why in our production processes we only use certified fabrics from conscious and responsible suppliers. These include eco-friendly recycled materials. All fabrics are cut out using numerically controlled machines according to optimised cutting patterns. In this way we improve efficiency and minimise waste. Waste that cannot be avoided is given a second life in the form of marketing materials.

Zero waste
We run a number of zero waste projects. Fabric waste is converted to marketing materials for our trade partners, associates and customers, as well as to animal beds for shelters. In addition, part of our natural leather waste is sold to leather goods companies. As a result, we have reduced fabric waste to the bare minimum.
